This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to attend the Locus Awards here in Seattle for the first time. Having heard of the Hawaiian shirt tradition—
Not having worn a Hawaiian shirt, I was naturally out of place. Those of us who had chosen not to comply to tradition were each given a mark of shame. You could call it a scarlet letter, but it was actually many letters, and they made up the phrase, "I did not wear a Hawaiian shirt." This was especially important—
I also had fun getting this issue together, because I was getting August's issue together at the same time. I'll be leaving the country next week—
In any case, I can safely tell you that both this issue and next month's have a lot of great content for you. You'll notice a few new names on the masthead—
Also, welcome back Rena and Yoon! Two of our past editors are coming back to IROSF and we're definitely excited to have them.
In other changes, you'll notice some Amazon Associates links around the site. We're still working on incorporating these into our design, so expect them to get more graceful and natural over time. As always, it's part of our never-ending mission of finding ways to to pay our authors for their hard work, which in turn gives us great content to pass on to our readers.
Speaking of you, our beloved readers, we wanted to point out that IROSF no longer requires a subscription to view—
With that, welcome to July! We hope you enjoy it!
Publisher's Note: Stacey has been running IROSF quite effectively for over a year now. Stepping from logistical oversight deftly into a role of true ownership, Stacey's new title, Editor-in-Chief, is long overdue. Give her a round of applause!
